Heated Discussion in HK

Last night, we had a screening of MENTAL at Hong Kong Int. Film Festival with packed audience. The tickets for the two screenings were sold out in a few days, I heard. It surprised me.

The Q&A was too short to answer all the questions, but a lot of people stayed in the lobby and discussed the film and the issues for about 1 hour. I felt the same kind of enthusiasm toward this subject matter from the audience as in other Asian countries - South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. 昨晩、香港映画祭で『精神』の初めての上映がありました。３−４００人くらい入る映画館だったのですが、チケットを売り出して３日目くらいに売り切れたそうで、この題材に対する関心の高さに改めて驚かされます。３１日に予定されている上映も売り切れです。

上映後の質疑応答は時間が短か過ぎて消化不良の感がありましたが、ロビーに大勢のお客さんが残ってくださって、１時間くらいの白熱した議論になりました。釜山、台湾、ゆうばり、そして香港。アジアに共通する熱心さを感じました。お客さんからのコメントは、前のエントリーをご覧下さい。
