MENTAL won Dubai! 『精神』がドバイ映画祭で最優秀賞！

MENTAL won the Best Documentary Award at Dubai International Film Festival (Muhr AsiaAfrica Documentary Award) ! I posed for a photo with the director of VACATION which won the Special Jury Prize in the fiction category. I thank again the patients who courageously appeared in the film.

『精神』が、中東で最大規模のドバイ国際映画祭で、アジア・アフリカ・ドキュメンタリー部門の最優秀賞をいただきました！写真でご一緒したのは、アジア・アフリカ・フィクション部門で審査員特別賞を獲られた門井肇監督（『休暇』）です。映画に出て下さった当事者の方々に、改めて感謝しています。

MENTAL in Berlinale! 『精神』がベルリン映画祭へ！

I'm excited to announce that MENTAL, my latest feature observational documentary shot at a mental clinic in Japan, is now invited to Berlin International Film Festival (Forum, February 5-10), just like my previous movie CAMPAIGN!

It is also invited to Dubai International Film Festival (December 11-18), MoMA's Documentary Fortnight (February 11-28), Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival (March 25 - April 5), Hong Kong International Film Festival (March 22 - April 13), and Visions du Reel (April 23-29). It was world-premiered at Pusan International Film Festival in October, and won the best documentary award (PIFF Mecenat Award) there.

MENTAL will be theatrically released in Japan in June 2009. For details, please check our website below.

岡山の精神科診療所で撮った最新の観察ドキュメンタリー映画『精神』が、『選挙』に引き続きベルリン国際映画祭フォーラム部門（２月５日−１０日）に正式招待されることになりましたのでお知らせします。

『精神』は他にも、ドバイ国際映画祭（１２月１１日−１８日）、ニューヨーク近代美術館のドキュメンタリー・フォートナイト（２月１１日−２８日）、ブエノスアイレス国際映画祭（３月２５日ー４月５日）、香港国際映画祭（３月２２日ー４月１３日）、ヴィジョン・ド・レアル（４月２３日−２９日）にも招待されています。今年１０月に開かれた釜山国際映画祭で世界初公開され、最優秀ドキュメンタリー賞にあたるPIFF Mecenat賞を受賞しました。
